Welcome to 18 Clues! As you haven't bought from us before, please select the POSTAL delivery format option at checkout for your first order. We will then send a Welcome Card with tips, offers and other information with your first Challenge(s). For subsequent orders, you will be able to choose between POSTAL or PDF Download.
How 18 Clues Works
You go to our Challenge Shop and purchase one or more of our 18 Clues Challenges. You can choose a Walking Challenge, which requires you to visit the location and find the clues in person, or a Virtual Challenge, which you can complete online, anywhere you choose, using tools such as what3words, Google Maps and your preferred search engine. Assuming you solve all 18 clues correctly, you will be left with the correct solution to the Challenge, which you can then submit online to be entered into an amazing prize draw.
All clues, facts and solutions in the Walking and Virtual Challenge versions are different, so if you are able to visit the Challenge location you can complete both Challenge versions to double your chances of winning the prize. As you explore the location, be it physically or virtually, you will learn loads of interesting facts... but best of all, a healthy percentage of the price of each Challenge or Gift Card you buy will be donated to an animal welfare and/or environmental charity.

Give the gift of adventure with an 18 Clues Gift Voucher.
You can choose to have the gift voucher emailed to yourself to print out and present in person, or you can choose to have the voucher emailed directly to the recipient on a date that you pre-schedule.
If you choose to have the gift voucher emailed to yourself, you can buy stylish presentation sleeves from our Challenge Shop for just £2, including postal charges. You then simply insert the voucher you have purchased and present to your friend or loved one. Twenty percent of revenue from all gift vouchers purchased will be shared amongst the participating animal and/or environmental charities.
IMPORTANT: If you are buying a gift for others, always buy a gift voucher. Why? Whenever you purchase a Challenge through the Challenge Shop, a URN is generated that is specifically linked to you and your contact details, so only you will be able to request answers to clues or submit the final answer. If, however, you buy someone a gift voucher, they can choose whichever Challenge(s) they wish, and when they redeem their voucher they will be registered as a member in their own right.

New Challenge Location
Our first new 18 Clues Challenge location of the year invites you to explore beautiful Oxford. Coined The City of Dreaming Spires by the 19th Century English poet Matthew Arnold, Oxford is an architectural wonderland steeped in history, academia, glamour and quirkiness.
Backstory: A group of Oxford scholars have been working tirelessly to complete a piece of ground-breaking scientific work. They are exhausted and have reached the point where they are struggling to see the wood from the trees. Your Challenge is to correctly solve 18 clues to identify a chemical element crucial to their research. Can you crack the Challenge?
Remember that there are two versions of each Challenge... Walking and Virtual. Clues, facts and solutions for each are different, so if you are able to visit the Challenge location why not complete both versions to double both your knowlege of the location and your chances of winning the prize!
